Is it better to use one or two Zakys per child?

Rule of thumb, children that need comfort, support AND aid with positioning 2 Zakys work best:

  • Babies weighing less than 15 pounds or those that do not have the ability to comfort or position themselves
  • Can use them front/back, top/bottom, on either side of the car seat
  • The baby is never without one while the other is being washed or scented
  • When the child is away from both parents at the same time, one can be scented by mom, one by dad
  • Premature or ill babies, or those recuperating from a medical procedure, etc.
  • One can go with the baby, the other stays with the parent (when the parent cannot visit the baby they can “swap” Zakys after scenting them)
  • For End-Of-Life Palliative Care
For children that only need comfort, those that can position themselves, disabled children, those that are away from only one parent at a time, and adults, only one Zaky works really well.

Is there a difference between the RIGHT and LEFT hand Zaky?

There is no difference for the baby.  We offer right and left hands because it looks more natural to have a pair than 2 lefts or 2 rights when they are used simultaneously with the same baby.  However, some moms tell us their preferences:

Some say that if they are right-handed they want the right Zaky, and some right-handed say that they use the left hand to comfort the baby, so they prefer the left.

Any ideas about the colors?
Try mom scenting her favorite color and dad scenting his favorite color.
